Gail Crabtree has more than four decades of experience in residential general contracting and is known around the region for building high-quality homes in which people love to live. Gail is a Durham native with building in her genes-she heralds from a long line of builders and contractors. Gail has an eye for good design and has the expertise to bring that design to life. Her direct communication style and commitment to her world means there is complete transparency throughout your renovation or building project. Gail is relentlessly focused on quality and ensures all members of her team are delivering at the highest level.
When she’s not on a project site, Gail can be found lifting heavy weights in her home studio gym, hiking, taking photographs,or making t-shirts of her own design.

Rama Mills, a North Carolina Native, has been in the general contracting industry for 34 years. As a founding member of the G. Crabtree Home Building (GCHB) team, Rama helped grow the business from a startup into a thriving enterprise that constructed more than 400 quality homes over the last 3 decades. Rama served a Chief Financial Officer making sure GCHB was well managed and financially sound enough to weather all economic cycles.
Rama is still a valuable consulting partner. In retirement, you can find her doing afternoon workouts in the gym, playing with her cats, and enjoying new pursuits.

No stranger, Amy Crabtree-Haynes has worked with G Crabtree Homebuilding for years. Like sister Gail, she is part of a large contracting family. Her father, brothers, nieces, and nephews have all worked in or owned home building companies.
She relocated with her family to Carolina Beach in 2013 and after years with GCS, she is now helping grow her husband’s thriving motorcycle business, Salter Speed Shop in Wilmington. Just a phone call away, we still employ her expertise and finely tuned design eye.

Barbara Lau brings a wealth of experience and talents as a project manager, public historian, and folklorist. As the newest member of the team, she is learning to translate her experience in historic preservation and folklife festival site design to residential home building. Barbara is a modern quilt maker, giving her an especially keen eye for color and line. She also brings her experience as a stage manager which makes figuring out job plans and managing crews a breeze.
When she’s not picking up supplies or answering emails, you can find her in her studio working on her next modern creation.
